You can say, it all started with a chicken. A trip to the corner grocery store in Washington Heights led to an encounter with a dirty one. It was dark and rainy and there he was, wandering. Skipping the store, I bathed and fed it at home. On what was supposed to be a college shopping trip downtown, I brought home a baby husky. During an apartment hunt, I ran into an abandoned apartment with 3 kittens and 1 guinea pig. They were all rescued. After college, a street cat followed me home. He was named Lucky.
In addition to my animal rescues, I hold a Bachelor of the Arts in Spanish/Marketing from the University at Buffalo. There, actively involved in hosting college bound H.S. students on campus and mentoring freshmen, I studied abroad at the University at Havana in the summer of 2001. Post-graduation experience includes, working for the American Multicultural Marketing sector at Alloy, Inc., translating leases at Columbia University Medical Center, copy writing and translating a book on reverse mortgages.
Even with this colorful history of jobs, my passion to help stray animals has remained unchanged. Every pet deserves a chance to live a happy life outside a cage. It is with this dream that Pawfect Day materialized. Pawfect Day runs on the belief that every pet owner can make a difference. A portion of every dog walk, is donated to various not for profit rescue organizations, such as Stray from the Heart, AC & C and the ASPCA. Every dog walk brings a pet closer to finding a good home and fulfilling this dream.
